External monitor — at least 27 inches, 4K makes text noticeably sharper

Laptop stand to raise the built-in screen to eye level as a second display

A proper mouse — trackpads are fine for browsing but not for 8-hour days

Top of monitor at or slightly below eye level — no looking up

Arms at 90 degrees, wrists neutral — get a keyboard tray if your desk is too high

Feet flat on the floor or on a footrest — dangling feet wreck your lower back
